Top 10 Best Players in La Liga

The final edition of our top 10 players in league football has us taking a deeper dive into La Liga. This is our official Top 10 Players in La Liga list for the 2020-2021 season. All player stats found here

10. Mikel Oyarzabal

Mikel Oyarzabal has been one of the hottest prospects in La Liga for some time now. At the age of 23 he has started to put together the resume to be considered a top player. Oyarzabal is Real Sociedad’s main attacking threat. He has proven his worth with 7 goals and 2 assists through 11 games this season. Real Sociedad will need Mikel to continue improving if they are to reach their goal of qualifying for the Champions League.

9. Kieran Trippier

One of the most important players in Atletico Madrid’s defense is Kieran Trippier. He had a bit of a rough ending to his career with Tottenham. But Trippier has found new life in La Liga. He continues to impress as Atletico Madrid hope to win La Liga this season. One of the better attacking fullbacks in La Liga, Trippier has been able to notch 4 assists so far this season.

8. Jose Maria Gimenez

Jose Maria Gimenez is one of the most important players in La Liga. He is rightfully considered one of the finest center backs in the world. Gimenez unfortunately has missed some time due to injury this season. For Atletico Madrid to continue their success they need him to continue to play in good form and get healthy again. He will be a major boost to the side when he returns.

7. Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema has somehow been Real Madrid’s main striker since 2009 and is still underrated. He had obviously been a bit of an afterthought with Cristiano Ronaldo on the team. But since Ronaldo left, Benzema has just continued scoring goals like he always does. Benzema has 8 goals and 5 assists so far this season.

6. Luis Suarez

Barcelona somehow decided that Luis Suarez was expendable after last season. It makes sense for them to try and get younger at the position but Suarez continues to be a talisman in front of goal. It seems as if he has officially pushed Diego Costa out of the team. It’s not difficult to see why either; as Suarez has 8 goals in his first 11 appearances for Atletico.

5. Jan Oblak

Jan Oblak is one of only a few goalkeepers who can truly be described as world class. He continues to prove this each and every season. Atletico Madrid has done a fantastic job in keeping the ball out of their own net. Oblak currently has 10 clean sheets out of a possible 14 in La Liga this season.

4. Toni Kroos

Toni Kroos is one of the finest midfielders in the world. This season he has been a little bit below his usual impressive standard. He currently only has 1 goal and 1 assist in his first 15 appearances. Expect those numbers to improve as the season progresses. But if they don’t then it’s possible that Kroos could tumble down the list a bit.

3. Iago Aspas

Iago Aspas has had a remarkable emergence since his days at Liverpool. It seems like is not even close to slowing down at the age of 33. He is RC Celta de Vigo’s best player and he earns this spot in the top 10. Aspas has been extremely valuable up to this point in the season. He already has 9 goals and 6 assists through his first 17 La Liga appearances this season.

2. Raphael Varane

Varane is another one of the best central defenders in the world. He is fully deserving of the number 2 spot on this list as any team in the world would love to have him. If Real Madrid are going to have a shot at winning the league title they will need Varane every step of the way.

1. Lionel Messi

Not much really needs to be said about Lionel Messi’s inclusion at number 1. He is probably the greatest footballer of the last 15 years. With Cristiano Ronaldo off to Serie A there is no other name that would fit at the top of this list.

FIFA 21 Ultimate Team – Best Cheap Players

Recently, I’ve been getting into playing ultimate team as the new FIFA came out and as with most people I don’t spend any money in game. So in order to compete, it’s necessary to find cheap players to put into your team that can play against the Mbappe’s and Neymar’s. In this list I’ll go over some of the very cheap players who can help turn your team around at a fraction of the cost of the more established stars.

Lukas Klostermann

This first player is a center back who plays for Leipzig. With his 84 pace, 82 defending, and 77 physical he is basically everything you could ask for in a defender at this stage of the game. All he needs is a shadow chem style and he instantly becomes one of the top defenders in the game. Also with his German nationality he is quite easy to link with, especially if you’re building a Bundesliga squad. Currently he comes in at around 6,500 coins.

Kevin Mbabu

Another Bundesliga defender, Mbabu may be one of the most underrated right backs in FIFA 21. With 89 pace, 74 defending, and 81 physical he has the speed to keep up with the paciest attackers and the size to win headers. In a Bundesliga team, MBabu should be one of the first players targeted as he only costs around 1000 coins.

Milot Rashica

Finally we move into the attack with yet another Bundesliga player in Milot Rashica. Rashica may be one of the least known players on this list but from personal experience, he is well deserving of a place. Coming in at around 750 coins, he is one of the cheaper attackers in the entire game. I had been using him in my team at striker over the past week and he’s been able to score over 70 goals with 40 assists in only 50 appearances. This is an extremely good return rate for a player who costs less than 1000 coins.

Allan Saint-Maximin

Allan is probably one of the most used cards in FIFA 21 up to now and it makes a lot of sense why. He’s extremely fast, and has very good dribbling to go along with 5 star skills and 4 star weak foot. Allan is basically everything you could want in a winger. The fact that he plays in the Premier League is a bonus, making him easy to link with. His cost is a little bit high, coming in around 35,000 coins at this point so he’s most likely not a player to buy in the early stages of the game. But as his price drops, he is definitely someone who should be on everyone’s wish list.

Moussa Sissoko

The final player in this list is Moussa Sissoko. The central midfielder for Tottenham is a perfect do-it-all player. He really doesn’t have too many weaknesses, which is what makes him so highly sought after. His French nationality along with his playing in the Premier League makes him easy to link with (including a perfect link to Saint-Maximin). His price tag is also a little bit higher at 25,000, so I would recommend waiting until it drops a bit before looking to buy. But even at that price Sissoko is a steal and one of the top midfielders in the game.

This is by no means a comprehensive list as I’m sure there are a lot of other cheap players that can find a place into teams. These are only players who I’ve personally had an opportunity to use, and would recommend to everyone.
